Hosted at our studio space, Casablanc, Retrofit Painting of Boston was an interactive art event conceptualized by artist, Thomas Willis. Originally from Las Vegas, Willis was inspired by the concepts of consumer culture, branding, and nightlife when he created the body of work displayed at the event. The event was a satirical “launch party”, during which the attendees got to participate in a pseudo-performance mimicking a Vegas nightclub. The room was dimly-lit, booming with house music, and extravagantly sponsored by Bombay Saphire. Blanc worked in collaboration with Willis to design the flyer and space for the event.
